SURPRISING TRENDS AND HOW TOURISM WORKS
Tourism is changing, and it might surprise you about details and policy decisions that impact consumer trends. How does a Travel Agency work, wholesaling? Did you know that much of our tourism promotion is directed to Motorhome rentals? How does this impact business and communities? This workshop examines some of the strategies that are out there in the marketplace, and steps participants through the labyrinth of how the industry works, here in Canada and globally.
10am - 3pm
$90 per person

OPPORTUNITIES IN TOURISM
Success is achieved through being diverse and being able to forecast and deliver. We will be experiencing a flood of Chinese visitors in the future, are you ready? This workshop will explor the changing demographics in the marketplace. What's the cruise ship industry doing? Do they now things you don't? We'll find out. What are visitors doing about the high cost of fuel? Learn about the latest boomer, X'er and Echo trends and niche opportunities that can be delivered on a limited budget.
10am - 3pm
$90 per person

DEVELOPING TOURISM IN RURAL COMMUNITIES
AND URBAN NEIGHBORHOODS
How many tourism business owners do you actually have living in your community? You might be surprised; there might not be that many. This is the first clue of unrealized opportunities. There's real methods of developing tourism in your community which will achieve real results. This workshop will examine how businesses can work together to achieve greater revenues and how communities can build valuable partnerships with business. We'll also examine a neighborhood approach to tourism development and how co-mentoring can achieve niche tourism opportunities.
10am - 3pm
$90 per person
